Over quarter of a century of LTTE's fascist regime has only rendered more than 100000 innocent
Tamil civilians including children in complete destitute; not to mention the destruction brought on the precious human lives. This misery is amply evident from the horror stories related by the escaped civilians from the clutches of the LTTE. With the humanitarian operations
currently progressing, the Government of Sri Lanka has taken appropriate action to provide immediate humanitarian assistance for her citizens.
While the Government of Sri Lanka is appealing to the international community for financial and material support, the Sri Lanka High Commission in London wishes to make a similar appeal to the Sri Lankan diaspora living in London for appropriate contribution to this noble cause.
This is a unique opportunity to express your solidarity with the needy people and reinforce your patriotism and commitment to your motherland.
For the purpose of convenience it has been decided to accept cash donations at the moment whilst a decision on material donations would be taken at a latter stage.
Donations must be made by cheque or postal order drawn in favour of the 'Sri Lanka High Commission'. Name and postal address of the donor should be made available to send a receipt.
