Holders of foreign passports (non-Sri Lankan passports) who wish to travel to the North of Sri
Lanka must obtain security clearance from the Ministry of Defence of Sri Lanka, before embarking on the journey to the North of Sri Lanka. However, this does not apply to foreign passport holders those WHO ARE BORN IN SRI LANKA:

A letter of request for clearance should be forwarded by fax to the attention of Military Liaison
Officer, Ministry of Defence, Sri Lanka. [Fax Nos. 00-94-11-2328109, 00-94-11-2430163]

The letter should contain Name of the applicant, Passport Number, address in the UK, address of
the place of stay in Sri Lanka, and the address/s of the intended place/s of visit/stay in the North of Sri Lanka with dates.
